Testing and Storage Expertise
- Sample Retention: Our representative samples are retained as loads are transferred to our 6,000-gallon dedicated "day tanks." These samples undergo rigorous analysis by independent laboratories to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Tank Farm Excellence: Our tank farm, enclosed within a steel building, boasts a capacity of 1.75 million gallons with secondary containment to meet state and federal guidelines. Our design and procedures adhere to NFPA 30 guidelines and maintain a comprehensive SPCC plan.
Truck Features and Safety
- Truck Excellence: Our trucks feature internal emergency valves, dome lids with emergency venting capacity, and meet DOT-M-306 requirements. They also have drop-proof fittings for off-loading procedures.
- Compliance: Valley Environmental trucks are fully licensed to meet local, state, and federal guidelines for transporting used oil and related products.
- Experienced Drivers: Our professional drivers hold at least three years of driving experience with Class A or B CDL, including Tanker endorsements. They are extensively trained in safety and the handling of used petroleum products.
- Insurance: Valley Environmental Services maintains a minimum of $1,000,000 in general liability insurance.
Storage Facilities and Sustainability
- Storage Facilities: Large holding tanks in Newton, North Liberty, and Burlington, Iowa, allow us to manage used oil efficiently. Samples are tested to maintain product quality.
- Sustainable Practices: We transport the used oil to our affiliated asphalt plants, where over three million gallons are burned annually to enhance energy recovery. Future expansion plans include a 750,000-gallon outdoor tank.
- Oil Filter and Antifreeze Recycling: We offer recycling services for oil filters and antifreeze, ensuring responsible processing and contributing to sustainable steel production and antifreeze recycling.
